Authorities have charged a 57-year-old Eden man with animal cruelty, the Somerset County Sheriff's Office reported Friday.

Gary David Williams of Eden Allen Road was arrested July 27 at the Somerset County Detention Center on Sam Barnes Road in Westover and charged with two counts of cruelty to animals, although specifics of the alleged incidents were not available late immediately.

According to a Sheriff's Office report, Williams was served a criminal summons and taken into custody.
