A Greenhills man appeared in court on June 22 after police say he put his family cat in the freezer. 23-year-old Mark Huguenard is charged with animal cruelty.

Huguenard's father found the cat in the freezer on June 21.

He told police Mark has an alcohol problem and put the animal there because it was breathing heavily.

The cat was still alive when officers removed it.

A judge set a $1000 bond for Huguenard.

If he gets out, he has to wear an electronic ankle monitor and stay away from his parents.
