Upon getting a tip that individuals were fighting dogs (a class E felony), Arthur Davis Hicks, Jr., 18, 801 Fran Drive, and Dominic Michael Brown, 18, 1809 10th Avenue North, Nashville were arrested. Both were charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.

A white American Bull Terrier mix less than two years old and a brindle pit bull about a year old were confiscated when Fayetteville Police Department patrolmen, Detective Adam Eubanks, Lincoln County Sheriff's Department deputies and Betty Simmons, manager of the Animal Shelter of Fayetteville and Lincoln County, arrived on the scene.

"There have been names of others given to us that we're investigating," says Simmons, noting many of the individuals are teenagers.

Hicks was released on $2,000 bond, while Bond was released on $3,000 bond. Officer Tony Metcalf made the arrests.

The� Bull Terrier mix was badly cut on its head and face and the brindle pit bull was injured on its right front leg. Both of the animals will be euthanized following due process.
