A Hixson man is facing charges for slicing the stomach of a cat he "hated." The cat, named Tinker, had to be euthanized.
Teddy J. Wilson, of 2037 Hamill Road, was charged with cruelty to animals.
Police said they were summoned to Wilson's address on an report of an intoxicated male arguing with his girlfriend and refusing to leave. He was gone by the time police arrived.
The girlfriend, Kelly Logan, said Wilson had been drunk and arguing and cursing with her "about the cat."
Police said at that time, Ms. Logan's son ran out holding Tinker, his three-month-old pet kitten. The kitten had been sliced open from the chest area down the abdomen and two inches to the left leg. The kitten's innards and organs were hanging out, though the cat was still alive.
The Logans said Wilson had apparently cut open the kitten.
The injured feline was rushed to an animal clinic, but Dr. Mary Morgan said Tinker would have to be euthanized. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
