A 65-year-old woman was arrested Dec 5 for allegedly abandoning her house cats for two months and not leaving them enough food, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Bobbi Valentine, who lives west of West Palm Beach, faces an unlawful abandonment or confinement of animal charge as well as a cruelty to animals charge.

Deputies found in September several malnourished cats and their feces in her home in the 700 block of Aspen Road.

Investigators later had to put down six cats because they were ill.

Valentine admitted to detectives that she did not leave anyone to care for her cats while she was gone from home for two months.

She also said she left the cats with only two weeks of food.

She was being held at the Palm Beach County Jail.
