Miami-Dade police were called out to what they described as a "house of filth" today.

Officers say a 75-year-old woman who lives at 11780 S.W. 30th St. told them she could not keep up with all her animals, which total 20 to 30 cats and dogs. They say she asked to be moved to a shelter.

Police say the woman is mentally competent and she will be moved to a shelter.
