Sentence: Walter was ordered to pay $5,394.50 in court costs, fines and restitution to cover the shelter's costs of caring for the seized animals.

Walter also was sentenced to 365 days in jail, which was probated for two years, and ordered to pay an additional $10,000 fine, which was conditionally discharged. If Walter violates the terms of her probation, she faces serving the additional jail time and paying the fine, court officials said.
