Sentence: Judge Norman A. Thomas fined Boose $500 on the animal cruelty charge and sentenced him to a year in jail but suspended seven months of the time. Thomas also fined Boose $250 for each of the four failure-to-vaccinate charges and $25 for each of the four failure-to-license charges.

Boose appealed the other conviction, and remained free on $20,000 bond.
