On May 20, 2002, Wilmoth, operator of Wild Wilderness Safari animal park was sentenced for aiding and abetting the illegal transport and sale of endangered tigers, a misdemeanor violation of the US Endangered Species Act. Wilmoth received 6 months home confinement and 2 weekends in jail. He was also ordered to pay $25. special assessment and will be on probation for 3 years and must pay the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Save the Tiger Fund $10,000.
