Convicted: Killing and selling endangered animals for meat

Sentence: On 9/23/02, Woldman plead guilty in federal court to purchasing the hide of a federally protected Bengal tiger in August 1997. The tiger was later stuffed and displayed as a trophy in his suburban Chicago home. Woldman paid $4,500 for the tiger and shooting it while the animal was confined in a cage at the Funky Monkey Animal Park in Crete, IL. He also admitted to knowing that documents were prepared by co-defendants to make the illegal sale appear as a donation.

Notes:
shot and killed wildlife, including an endangered tiger and purchased its hide and skull to be mounted and displayed as a trophy. He was charged with two counts of violating wildlife protection statutes.
