The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for fatally shooting a pet steer in Marlboro earlier this month.
According to authorities and news reports, Cash, a Scottish Highlander steer, was found fatally shot on his owner's property at Coyote Ridge Stables on July 10. An autopsy revealed the steer was shot twice and did not die immediately. Cash was a beloved pet and a local mascot in the community. Marlborough Town Police Chief Steve Fajfer said he hopes the reward will bring forward information to help find the perpetrator.
Cash's owners have also posted a $1,100 reward. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
