On the afternoon of March 13, 2006, Jennifer Engellant's year-old German shepherd mix was shot in her backyard by an unknown suspect. The police and animal control officials responded quickly and launched an immediate investigation.

The dog is doing well and survived his ordeal with only minor injuries.
