Leeann Watson, 33, has been accused of depriving six horses and two dogs of adequate food.

The Department of Agriculture inspectors seized the animals from Watson's property on Winsted Norfolk Road in March and she was arrested on April 13.

A trial has been scheduled in September for depriving the horses and dogs of adequate care.

Patsy Renzullo of Winsted, Watson's lawyer, had filed documents in an attempt to have the animals returned and to suppress evidence supplied by inspectors.

Ms Watson has said the horses were ill with pneumonia after being reloastede from Virginia.
