Alleged: Michele Wojciechowski

Michele Wojciechowski, 45, has been given summons for 37 counts of animal cruelty. She was also issued a summons for unlicensed animals. Officials destroyed 26 sick cats that were found by an investigator on Monday in a Briar Mills North condominium.

Twenty-six sick cats were destroyed, a veterinarian will examine eight other cats.

Three dogs were also found in the condominium and they appear to be fine.

The 26 sick cats had eye infections and upper respiratory infections caused by urine in the home. Some of the animals were mean.

All of the dogs and cats were flea infested and were matted with dirt and feces.

Wojciechowski had lived at the Brian Mills condominium for about two or three months before her unit was found unfit for human habitation.

The remaining cats and dogs will be examined to determine if they are suitable for adoption.

The animal center is located at 185 Brick Blvd., they are accepting adoption applications.
