Abused animal advocate Jessie Miller reported a case of animal cruelty at a home in Northeast El Paso, then the neglected dog mysteriously disappeared. The story began when Ms. Miller took pictures of the abused animals.

Ms. Miller was disgusted when she found five dogs at a northeast el Paso home living in conditions unfit for any animal. On Monday, she reported the situation to Animal Control. When Animal Control officers arrived, they found only four dogs.

The woman living at the house was given 24 hours to show the fifth dog, or she'd be charged with animal cruelty. According to Ms. Miller, the woman claimed the dog was ill and was taken to Juarez for treatment.

However the dog, now known as "Martin," was not in Juarez but was wandering the streets. Isela Navarro found him hiding by her home. Ms. Navarro saw a news report earlier in the week and recognized the dog.

Ms. Miller then went to Ms. Navarro's home and picked "Martin" up. According to Ms. Miller, "he's incredibly thin, has wounds on his legs but his spirits, are remarkable high."

The concern remains for the other four dogs living at the Northeast El Paso home. ABC-7 spoke with Animal Control about the situation and were told there would not be any information until the investigation is complete.
