Eric James Leonard, 59, was fined $1000 after pleading guilty in the Ipswich Magistrates Court to one charge of abandonment and two charges of lack of duty of care to a German shepherd.
"The dog was half starved to death and dumped outside a factory." The dog, known as Lucky, was found about 14kg underweight and with a skin disease but it later regained health with the help of RSPCA carers and found a new home and a new name.
