On November 14, 2005, a Jamestown man was charged with animal torture after he was seen punching, choking and biting his dog in front of the Kwik Fill Station on Forest Avenue.

Jamestown Police said Carl Hyldahl, 53, was seen carrying the 6-month-old German shepherd mix by its collar. He is being held in jail in lieu of $250 bail, police said.
