A complaint was filed against Amy Stragg on August 30, following a report of possible animal cruelty. Stragg pled guilty to charges of animal cruelty during State Court Oct. 19. Judge Judd Drake presided over the proceeding.

According to Metter Animal Control Officer Tommy Condrey, Stragg said that while she was out of town, the person she had left responsible for feeding her pets did not fulfill this duty. Condrey called in law enforcement and found the dogs inside the residence. He said the adult dogs had not eaten in a couple days and the puppies were dead.

Right then we took the dogs with us back to the shelter, Condrey said.

Stragg is being fined $358 in addition to the cost of getting the animals out of the shelter which may amount to as much as $250.
