The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shooting deaths of two horses near Burlington, West Virginia.
According to the Mineral County Sheriff�s Office, two Purebred Arabian horses, were shot and killed on the property of James Baker, located on Fried Meat Ridge Road near Burlington, West Virginia. It appears that the horses were shot from the roadway while in a pasture field. The shootings took place on or about the evening of Saturday, September 17 or the early morning hours of Sunday, September 18, 2005.
