Chip Coulter said a pack of semi-wild dogs had been causing havoc in the community for weeks. After repeated calls to animal control without results, Coulter decided to take matters into his own hands.
Wednesday morning he ran over a stray dog with his truck on purpose. Public reaction to Coulter's decision has run the gamut--from outrage to support.
Garden District resident Dana Zeigler witnessed the incident from her home. "It was just so wrong. You don't just torture an animal like that. I don't care what it did. It's an animal", she said.
Baton Rouge resident Michael Hernandez feels the same way. "I was pretty appalled. I couldn't believe that somebody would take something like that into their own hands in the neighborhood."
Others, like Christina Nail, support Coulter's decision. "I was suprised mainly at other people's reaction to it. You would think that he'd run over a kid on the side of the road."
Coulter has received threatening telephone calls from anonymous neighbors. Tonight his two daughters are sleeping somewhere else because of the threats. References« Back to Search Results
