A 14-year old boy pleaded guilty and was convicted of juvenile delinquency for cruelty to animals for throwing a stray cat on a power line and off a building.
The boy chased after women while holding the cat and showed it to drivers waiting for traffic light to change. He also flung the cat against parked cars and then dump the dead cat behind the old firehouse on Public Square.
Judge L. Thomas Skidmore said "The court considers these types of matters serious. We haven't disposed of it yet." The court is still taking steps.
Juvenile records are confidential so the youth was not identified.
Outside the court the boy's father expressed bewilderment saying "All I can say is my wife and I are animal lovers. We just don't understand why it happened." References | Medina County Gazette - May 5, 1992 |
