Police arrested Jade Jonas, 20, and Michael Smith, 21, of Elkhart, on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent and animal cruelty. Police also placed the couple's three-month-old son and three-year-old daughter in protective custody.
On June 15, Police responded to a call about a barking dog at the home. They say inside they found piles of feces that had been stepped on and ground into the carpet and kitchen floor.
Police stated Jonas yesterday was released from the Elkhart County jail after posting $4,500 bond. Smith also faces a charge of possession of marijuana and was being held last night at the county jail. References« Back to Search Results
