A Deerfield man was placed on one year's probation on May 10, 2005 after pleading guilty to attacking a goose in Buffalo Grove. David Lim, 32, of 1740 Christopher Drive, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor cruelty to animals in the April 17 attack that was caught on a banks security camera.
Assistant States Attorney Mary Stanton said Lim used a stick to beat a Canada goose he encountered in the parking lot of Harris Bank, 700 E. Lake-Cook Road.
He was seen on the tape striking the goose two or three times, then stomping on eggs in a nearby nest.
Police said Lim told them he had recently been attacked by a goose.
Stanton said Lim was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service, complete an anger management course and donate $500 to Orphans of the Storm, an animal shelter in Riverwoods.
A second misdemeanor charge of unlawful taking of a goose was dismissed in exchange for his plea. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
