Vaughn Harold VanDoorn, 36, Sparta Township was accused of skewering and killing a two-year old cat in Fall of 1999 He was sentenced to time already served in jail.
VanDoorn pleaded guilty to torturing and killing an animal. He had been behind bars since April. He was accused of torturing and killing the cat "McIntryre" last October.
VanDoorn took the cat from a Sparta woman advertising a free cat.
After VanDoorn returned the cat's dead body to the woman, he said he didn't know what was wrong with the cat. The cat was taken to Michigan State University where an autopy showed the cat's organs had been punctured internally.
He faced up to four years in prison on the cat killing charge. He had already been convicted of more serious charges in Allegan County.
