Curtis White, 30, a Saratoga County man has been accused of shooting his dog twice with a bow and arrow and hitting his black Labrador retriever several times with a shovel.

State Police arrested White of Gansevoort about 40 miles northeast of Albany on animal cruelty charges.

White shot and beat his dog after it got tangled up in its chain and knocked White down.

A veterinarian who examined the dog discovered a compound fracture in one leg, an arrow fragment lodged in another and an arrow head lodged in the dog's nasal sinus. The dog had to be euthansized.
