A severely malnourished pitbull was seized from a home by the Colorado Humane Society. A representative of the humane society says that two adults face charges of animal cruelty and neglect.

Dr. Sue Bloss stated about the dog's condition, "She weighed 23 pounds in October of 2003 when she was four months old, and she weighed just 21 when she came in last week."

"She looks like a miniature greyhound because she's so skinny."

Jason Peeso, of the Colorado Humane Society, was the animal protection agent who took her from her owner's home. "It was laying on the kitchen floor, tied up to the refrigerator, balled-up in a corner."

Dr. Bloss expects she'll eventually make a full recovery--and be available for adoption in a better home.

Tinker has accumulated nearly a thousand dollars in veterinary expenses--with more to come.

If you'd like to help defray the cost, and maybe have a chance to adopt her yourself, contact the Colorado Humane Society at 227-7387.
