The Nebraska Humane Society is trying to make room for dozens of sick cats and dogs after the Department of Agriculture took animals away from a breeder near Broken Bow.
The sick animals arrived at the humane society late Wednesday afternoon. There are between 20 and 30 cats and 13 Chihuahua dogs. All the dogs have ringworm and will be treated, though the Humane Society said treatment is expensive and takes two months to clear up.
Judy Varner, the Humane Society's director, said it will take thousands of dollars to get the animals healthy again.
As a result, the shelter is asking for the public's help to donate money or adopt an animal. Cat adoptions are half price. http://www.nehumanesociety.org/ References « More cases in Custer County, NE
