    Four people face felony charges following the discovery of a neighborhood dog fighting ring.

    DeKalb County police received a complaint regarding dead dogs started investigating.

    Officer Andres Presiosi found a pit bull puppy tied to a tree and as she canvassed the area, she found more dog for a total of seven.

    "Several of the dogs had large amount of hit marks, scars all over their face and body, some of them had broken bones that haven't been repaired,� Presiosi said.

    The investigation led to an old soccer field where the fights took place, law enforcement officials said. Some of the residents in the area said they witnessed some of the fighting.

    "Horrifying, horrifying and you'd see the cars pull up, your stomach would just cringe because you knew what was going to happen and you knew what you were going to hear,� said Sandra Rodriguez.

    Robert James Powell, 44, and his 21-year-old son Lequentin Powell, along with 18-year-old Prentice Ware and his mother 43-year-old Sheila Ware face felony dog fighting charges. They also face animal cruelty charges.

    The Wares live on the property where the dogs were found.

    The seven dogs are all expected to survive. They will remain at DeKalb County Animal Control until a judge decides their future.
