A man was arrested early Friday after a domestic dispute that resulted in the killing of a dog. Rocky Spears, 45, Martinsville, was arrested in his home. He was charged with domestic battery, criminal confinement and intimidation.
Morgan County authorities said charges of animal cruelty will be filed later. He was held Friday in Morgan County Jail.
Spears and an unidentified woman who had been living with him got into an argument. The woman called Morgan County sheriff's deputies and said Spears had threatened the lives of her and her 8-month-old child. He then went outside and began shooting at a kennel, injuring two dogs and killing one, deputies stated.
Officers went to the home but were unable to locate Spears.
About two hours later, the woman called police to say Spears had returned home.
Police obtained a search warrant shortly after 6 a.m. Friday and found Spears and the baby sleeping in a bedroom, where they arrested him. References« Back to Search Results
