Callie was brought to Angel Rescue in an emergency. She was found with a rubber band grown into her neck. When the Samaritans who found her cut the rubber band they were shocked at what they found.

Callie had to have surgery. Her wounds have to be cleaned daily. Since the wound was very itchy, Callie began stratching her neck with her back feet. Surgical tape was initially put on her back legs to help stop any further injury but Callie would just chew the tape off. Now she wears baby booties with sporty blue vet wrap to allow her to scratch without re-injuring her wounds.

Callie is pregnant but hasn't delivered her babies yet. She is getting ready and starting to fill out and has lost the hair around her nipples, so the birth will happen soon.

Callie is feeling so much better that she is now cleaning herself. When she arrived at Angel Rescue she was very dirty from living a homeless life. Since cats typically try to keep themselves clean, Callie must have been very sick from her wound because she was not making any effort to clean herself.

The wound area is still open but is healing over well. Her wounds are still cleaned everyday with peroxide and gently cleaned with sterile gauze. Then, after her neck is all cleaned up, it is sprayed with Granulex Spray. Granulex helps to remove the dead skin cells and promotes new skin and cell growth over the injury. It also helps to keep a protective layer over the area while it heals.
