Dogs poisoned Dubois, WY (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, May 31, 2005 County: Fremont
Disposition: Open
Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
At least six dogs died after they ate poisoned meat or animal fat near Dubois, but authorities were not sure yet whether the cases were related to highly publicized 2004 dog poisonings near Yellowstone National Park.
Fremont County Sheriff's Capt. Roger Millward said poison baits were left along Horse Creek Road in June and July. At least six dogs -- and perhaps as many as 10 -- were killed.
Last year, more than 20 dogs were poisoned in Wyoming and Idaho. A $20,000 reward was offered but no arrests. Millward said the poison used in this summer's poisonings was different than the one used last year. References |
