One woman was arrested Friday night in connection with the abuse of a 2 month old puppy from Henderson County that was sick with parvo and left in sub-freezing temperatures.
Authorities say an arrest warrant was issued in the case for 34-year-old Wendy Cobb.
When deputies responded to the home in the 500 block of Gabe Street in Henderson, they say Cobb wasn't home, but her four minor children were there alone. They ranged in age from five to 17.
Authorities went inside to verify Cobb wasn't home and say the home was found to be infested with insects and living conditions were "extremely unlivable."
Animal control also responded to the scene and removed three cats, two dogs, a snake, and two lizards. They say fish were also found and they will be going back for those as well.
While officials were there, Cobb came home. She was arrested on animal cruelty charges, 2nd degree and the sheriff's office says they will be seeking additional charges.
The children were removed from the home and placed with other family members.
The dog that was found earlier in the week was named "Miracle" and taken to the vet, but later died. The humane society filed a cruelty charge Friday in the case.
Henderson County Sheriff's Office is still investigation the case.
