Coatesville, PA (US)

Incident Date: Wednesday, Sep 28, 2011
County: Chester

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Authorities in Chester County are looking for the person or people who mutilated at least three kittens in the past two weeks.

Nancy Simes, the owner of a cat colony on Robin Road in Coatesville discovered the animal remains on her property.

Simes told the SPCA she believed the kittens were between 6 and 8 weeks old.

The remains of a fourth kitten were found on Wednesday.

The lower half of one kitten was found near the woman's trashcan. Another kitten with massive head trauma was found on her porch. A third kitten was disemboweled and its remains were found in a pile on her porch as well, the SPCA says.

The fourth dead kitten was found near the property, but the cause of death is unknown.

The Chester County SPCA says cats, dogs, rabbits, and other companion animals are covered under "cruelty laws" that are enforced by the Chester County SPCA.
