A woman has been convicted of animal cruelty charges. Wendy Liana Tunstall, 35, of Delaware Street, Preston, was convicted in her absence at Preston Magistrates Court of three charges.

She failed to provide adequate care to a brown and white dog on three occasions in April and March after it suffered various injuries.

The dog suffered multiple bone fractures, a broken jaw and fractured femur but did not receive proper veterinary treatment, magistrates ruled.

She will be sentenced later.
