A St. Lawrence County woman has been charged with animal cruelty.

St. Lawrence County Sheriff's have arrested Donna M. Smith, 28, of 109 Brooklyn Road in Lawrence, on charges of Cruelty to Animals, a misdemeanor.

It is alleged that Smith left a puppy in a kennel at her residence without food and water.

Smith has been issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Lawrence Court where she will answer to her charges.
