14 puppies abandoned near dumpster
Danville, VA (US)

Incident Date: Monday, Aug 1, 2011
County: Danville City

Disposition: Open
Case Images: 1 files available

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

The Danville Area Humane Society is looking for the person or persons responsible for dumping 14 puppies at a dumpster.

Paulette Dean - director of the Danville Area Humane Society - said the organization is now offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for dumping the young puppies at a dumpster on Mount Cross Road.

A concerned citizen found the puppies in a box that was beside the dumpster and took them to the animal shelter.

Dean said they appear to be a Lab/chow mix, about four weeks old, and although it was initially unknown whether the puppies would survive because all of them were suffering from the effects of the intense heat and humidity, it appears that they'll be okay and put up for adoption once they're old enough, probably in another three to four weeks.

Anyone with information could get a reward of $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest and conviction. If you have information - contact the Danville Area Humane Society at (434) 799-5306. Calls may remain confidential.
