Two dogs seized, one with maggot-infested wound Memphis, TN (US)Incident Date: Saturday, Jul 9, 2011 County: Shelby
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Cimone Beal
The Memphis Police Department said a neglected dog had a cut on his leg that was infested with maggots and covered in flies.
"That is pretty bad," said a neighbor on Eastview Street. "She should have taken care of that."
Just before noon on Saturday, police received an animal cruelty call to a home in East Memphis. Officers found two dogs tied to the side of the house with, what they're calling, poor water conditions and no food or shelter.
Cimone Beal, owner of the dog with the infected cut, was cited with two counts of animal cruelty and the dogs were taken. No one answered the door at her home.
Beal was also cited by animal control for not having dog licenses and failing to vaccinate, as well as, spay and neuter. References |
