St. Paul Police say a man knocked his 12 week old puppy down the stairs because he was mad the dog for urinating on the floor.

27-year-old Roger Velasco was arrested for animal cruelty around five last night on Smith Avenue in St. Paul.

Police say they checked on the dog, a Maltese,Yorkie mix, but it didn't seem to be hurt.

The case has been turned over to animal control.
