The Benzie County prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for a Benzonia man in a dog shooting case.
The warrant charges Andrew J. McDaniel, 29, with a felony count of attempted killing or torturing of animals, punishable by two years or $1,000, and a misdemeanor charge of reckless use of firearms.

A Benzonia woman called authorities last week after she found her dog with a bullet wound. She told deputies she heard a shot come from her neighbor's yard on Wallaker Road in Joyfield Township. She went outside and saw the dog's injury. Animal Control officers took the dog to a local veterinarian, who treated the wounded pet. The animal is expected to recover.
Benzie Undersheriff Bill Sholten said the dog was not acting in an aggressive manner. References |
