Twenty-eight cats and kittens that were seized from a home in western Kansas are being cared for by Animal Haven in Merriam.
The state’s Animal Health Department took the animals from an elderly woman’s home, and they arrived at Animal Haven this morning, the shelter said.
None of the 22 adult cats and six kittens was spayed or neutered, and several need medical attention, according to Animal Haven.
The shelter is seeking donations to help care for the cats and the other animals housed at the no-kill shelter. Donations are being accepted at 9800 W. 67th St. in Merriam between noon and 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. References « More cases in Johnson County, KS
