Homeless dog stoned and tortured to death

Agentes de la Policía Local de Güímar presentaron en la mañana de ayer ante la Fiscalía de Menores de guardia a un joven de 16 años de edad, natural de aquel municipio por su supuesto delito relativo a la protección de flora, fauna y animales domésticos, tras matar a pedradas a un perro de raza podenco canario.

Cuando los funcionarios llegaron al lugar y tras realizar una inspección ocular en el paraje denominado Morra Blanca, hallaron a un perro de caza muerto, presuntamente por el impacto de una roca de grandes dimensiones.

Practicadas las averiguaciones oportunas los agentes de la Policía Local de Güímar pudieron dar con la identidad del supuesto autor de los hechos, el cual fue explorado en presencia de sus padres y presentado junto con las diligencias instruidas ante la Fiscalía de Menores.

El maltrato de animales está condenado según la Ley Orgánica 15/2003 del 25 de noviembre con una pena de prisión de tres meses hasta un año e inhabilitación especial de uno a tres años para el ejercicio de profesión, oficio o comercio que tenga relación con los animales.

En abril pasado la Fiscalía ordenó al Servicio de Protección de la Naturaleza de la Guardia Civil de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, la búsqueda del autor de la muerte de un perro al que un desaprensivo lanzó al barranco de Santos por la zona el cine Greco. El hecho fue presenciado por un vecino que alertó al 1-1-2. Tras arrojar al perro al vacío, el cual estuvo moribundo varios minutos, cogió la guagua de la línea 014 en la misma parada sobre las 23:30 horas. Su localización fue imposible.

Necropsia de la sinrazón. De acuerdo con el informe de necropsia realizada por la veterinaria autorizada para ello, en una inspección óptica exterior el animal presenta "un alto grado de caquexia o desnutrición, inferida por las saliencias en protuberancias óseas muy marcadas en la columna vertebral y zona costal".

Además, "al realizarse la inspección particular se observa como dato relevante las múltiples fracturas expuestas, con pérdida de la continuidad en el tejido de la piel, músculo y hueso, que el cadáver presenta en la zona de cabeza, exponiendo por ello parte de masa encefálica (huesos temporales, frontales, occipitales, maxilar y mandíbula) presuntamente causadas por golpes repetidos en dicha zona".
En el informe también se explica que "lo mismo sucede a nivel vertebral cervical, observándose fracturas en zona atlanto-oxipital y atlanto-axoidal y desgarros musculares múltiples en dicho sitio", y también se advierte la protrusión del globo ocular", es decir que se encuentra totalmente fuera de la cavidad orbital".
