Anchorage police say a man has been charged with animal cruelty in connection with the death of a dog caught in a trap. Police say 41-year-old Christian Kasprzyk was arrested by citation this week and released. The 4-year-old Rottweiler named "Grizzley" belonged to Tony and Natalie Lazenby. The dog died of injuries sustained when his head was caught in a Conibear spring trap. The dog died a couple of hours later of a crushed throat. Detectives followed the dog's trail through the snow to a neighbor's house. Tony Lazenby says they found a bucket on the porch baited with meat that held the trap. Kasprzyk has been charged with cruelty to animals and trapping of animals - both illegal in the municipality. References « More cases in Anchorage County, AK
