Dog starved, frozen to death Middletown, NY (US)Incident Date: Saturday, Nov 30, 2002 County: Orange
Disposition: Acquitted
Person of Interest: Darin G. Brown
Case Updates: 1 update(s) available
Darin Brown's emaciated dog was frozen to it's doghouse and had to be cut from the doghouse before it could be cremated. Darin Brown also allegedly failed to provide veterinary care for the dog while it was alive.
The first time he went to court the judge that was supposed to hear the case said that he had to exclude himself from the case because Darin Brown had contacted him personally prior to his court date and because he knew Darin Brown personally as a fine and upstanding citizen in the community. As a result, he would have to turn the case over to Judge Schwarts.
Brown pleaded "not guilty."
Case UpdatesThe case went to trial in Middletown City Court in September 2003. The trial lasted four days, and Brown was acquitted. | Source: Times Herald-Record - Dec 26, 2004 Update posted on May 14, 2005 - 1:39PM |
