County: Essex

Disposition: Convicted

Defendant/Suspect: Marie A. Feniello

On 7/22/08 in the Township of Montclair New Jersey Municipal Court, defendant Marie A. Feniello was found guilty of six counts of animal cruelty under NJSA 4:22-17 (a) 1, 2, 3 for failing to provide her 5 dogs and 1 cat with proper food, water and vet care. The court has ordered Ms. Feniello pay full restitution for the care of the animals, a $250 fine per charge, perform 30 days of community service, surrender her animals to the local animal shelter (where they are currently being cared for) and is on probation for two years. During her probation, Ms. Feniello is not permitted to own animals. According to Animal Control, Ms. Feniello usually acquires her animals either privately or through shelters and is known to move around the state of NJ and sometimes NY.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
