Elam is the former owner of the exotic animal farm PowerHouse Wildlife Sanctuary in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. Elam transported 2 tigers and 3 leopards across state lines, sold them to an undercover agent for $4,800 and then falsified federal documents declaring the illegal sale a donation.

Elam will serve 6 months of his 1 year sentence in an Oklahoma detention facility and 6 months in home confinement.
