Sentence: A Berryville, Ark., man accused of dog fighting at a residence in Lampe has entered an Alford plea and been sentenced to four years supervised probation.

Keith Owens, 42, entered an Alford plea of guilty to two charges of felony dog fighting during an Oct. 3 hearing.

Under the plea agreement, four additional counts of felony dog fighting were dismissed against Owens.

He was sentenced to four years in prison for the first two counts, but was given a suspended execution of sentence provided he doesn’t violate probation.

Under the conditions of his probation, Owens is required to pay several hundred dollars in restitution to law enforcement agencies. He is also prohibited from contact with John Stingley, who is also charged in connection with the alleged dog fighting ring.... more...
