Case Updates

Charges were filed against Richard Myron Wood, Tiffany R. Wood and Deborah Ann Wood, all of Lori Loop Road near McRae.

According to Clay County Sheriff's Office Animal Crimes Detective Annie Henderson's report, when asked why the horses were so thin, 18-year-old Tiffany Wood stated that it was "because no one has bought any feed for them in a while. My mother promised she would buy hay for them today."

Wood also said she could not buy food for the horses since she had a car payment to make.

Further testing of the horses indicated that at least one of the animals showed signs of colic.

A $2,502 bond was issued on Richard and Deborah Wood. Tiffany Wood was released on recognizance.
