Deputies arrested a woman on Oct 30 after they said they found more than 35 dogs and cats in kennels stacked atop each other in her Oak Park home.
Authorities said Collura Street resident Ann Krohn locked herself inside the house when court-services personnel attempted to serve her with an eviction notice.
"Krohn had fortified the entire residence with multiple deadbolts, boarded windows, chains and barbed wire," said Sgt. Gregory Carpenter. She also allegedly threatened officers with a switchblade.
Once inside, deputies found about 30 cats and seven dogs locked in portable pet containers.
Krohn was booked on suspicion of animal neglect, resisting arrest and carrying an illegal weapon.
The animals are now in the custody of animal control workers. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
