Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

On Saturday, a 5-month-old female pit bull mix puppy from Hamilton was brought in with fight wounds.

Leland Gordon, director of the humane society, said the dog had numerous bites, including a 4-inch gash under its front leg.

Instead of euthanizing the animal, the shelter opted to conduct emergency surgery and is looking for donations to help pay for the procedure.

"Unfortunately, it's a few idiots who have fought them, that aren't responsible and have really wrecked it for the breed," Gordon said. "You need to be a responsible pet owner."
