Police arrested a 74-year-old woman on Oct 11 on suspicion she poisoned a cat in August, police reports indicate.
Mary Smith, of 108 Caroline Street, is charged with a misdemeanor count of animal poisoning.
An animal control officer began an animal cruelty investigation in August after receiving a report that Smith was suspected of giving a neighbor's cat antifreeze. The cat could not be medically treated and was euthanized, police said.
Smith is free on bond.
